Today I’m sharing my recent project, the bridesmaid invitation suite for Tanya so she can surprise her girls and pop the big question. Considering their friendship bonds over the years and their commitment to help throughout the wedding plan and on the day, we agree that bridesmaids deserve to be spoiled with some nice and thoughtful invitation gift. It’s not just a card, it’s an ultimate invitation suite that will be cherished and remembered through the time.
Tanya- the lovely bride to be is a foodie and owns her food blog. She loves the concept of floral and pretty pastels which match up with her wedding next Summer. Inspired by her major interest in food, I incorporate the knot (aka pretzel!) which perfectly symbolises both wedding and food elements as well as the takeaway kraft box to wrap everything together.
The invitation suite features a set of whimsical watercolour card, the dusty blue belly band with the couples names written on the rounded pink cut-out, and typography design on the label which sealed up the kraft box.
I love to add a personal touch by addressing the names on the box for each bridesmaid. This is showing how much they mean to the bride. Also, some witty words written on each side of label as an element of surprise!
The watercolour illustration is hand-painted, combining clusters of blush pink & pastel flowers and trailing leaves. The floral illustrations adorn the first card ‘I can’t tie the knot without you’ with a little knot at the top as well as the ‘Will you be my maid of honour?’ card. The dreamy tone is perfect for their Summer wedding, paired up with the whimsical and bold typeface.
The signature cut-outs embellished with dusty blue ribbons tied onto the invitations to add an extra sentimental to the finishing touch.
