Forest Spa at Kamandalu Ubud

It’s always a good time to visit Bali! Last week I visited Bali with my best friend to enjoy some peaceful and relaxing weekend. We booked a trip to the spa in Ubud. After a quick breakfast, we headed to Kamandalu Ubud which is famous for their outdoor forest spa. What’s better to enjoy the quiet moment, lie back and getting pampered in the middle of tropical jungle?

Located above the Petanu River, this lush green hill and resort is absolutely stunning! They are taking a good care of their rice fields. You can see the view from the balcony while arriving at the reception.

We passed their sanctuary villas, pools, and tree deck to finally enter the private area of the forest spa. We were so lucky that we had it all to ourselves.

We were welcomed by our therapists which served a glass of fresh lemongrass. To begin our 90 minutes serene escape spa package, firstly we washed our feet in a wooden Balinese bowl and freshen up with the cold towel.

Then we’ve slipped on our kimono robe and filled out the form to choose our preferences on the strength and other required information. I started to feel a total zen on our first Balinese massage session. I had a quiet moment for myself, surrounded by tree and birds singing in the background. Waking up from our massage, we had a body scrub with a Javanese lulur from natural ingredients and got covered with fresh yoghurt to moist our face and skin. I felt so refreshed after rinsing off in their outdoor bamboo shower. This ultimate blend to nature experience was amazing!

They provided some seating spots under the sun overlooking the mesmerising forest view. But my favourite is the swing! It was certainly the highlight of this spa experience.

After the treatment, we had a little tour such as climbing their tree deck where you can use this facility for a forest dinner or yoga practice. We sat by the infinity pool sipping some fresh smoothies. Then we headed back by passing their romantic garden dining and walking across the red bridge. They’ve got so many beautiful spots for dining- my favourite is the floating breakfast on the large tray while you’re dipping into the pool.

Fresh and feel so delightful after a day well spent in this charming resort! I definitely recommend this place for those who seek the tranquil getaway surrounded by the beauty of Ubud. Just the perfect escape from your stressful routine and rejuvenate yourself in nature.
