The Notebook: Good as Gold

Today I am sharing how to turn your plain notebook into a cool stationery! Perfect for someone who loves an instant DIY makeover. It’s easy and simple tutorial to save your pennies. Learn how to decorate your plain notebook with gold polkadots and beautiful typography below.

You will need:

– black plain notebook

– gold metallic paint

– gold metallic drawing pen

– Mod Podge

– brush & pallette

– pencil with the rubber on the top

– cutter, scissors, scotch tape

Pick your favourite quotes. Mine is ‘Good as Gold’ as I will create a shimmery pattern of metallic polkadots notebook. Working on top of a cutting mat, cut out the letter with a cutter.

Mix the metallic paint with Mod Podge to protect potentially from rubbing off.

Place the stencil paper on the centre of the cover. Secure the edge with scotch tape so it won’t move when you are painting. Remove the paper after the paint dries. Tips: It’s better to add the thin line of letter’s serifs after removing the paper. Apply this with metallic drawing paper to get straight line.

The next step is applying the gold dots. You can use the rubber on the top of your pencil. Dip the rubber into the paint and stamp over the notebook. This is fun!
