Happy Saturday! Today I’d like to share a floral birthday invitations design for a friend of mine daughter’s first birthday. With her brilliant cooking skills, she will host a birthday party inspired from Alice in Wonderland and Mad Hatter afternoon tea. Scrumptious fondant cakes, bundt cakes, sponge cakes, chocolate slices, scones and teas on vintage cups and stands- that’s how she imagines her daughter special day. A beautiful floral arrangement is the key of the day’s celebration, so I decided to incorporate the whimsical watercolour floral into the invitations.
I started to paint the sketch of peonies and roses. Then I scanned the paintings and created the custom watercolour patterns. Rather than a formal invitation shape, I printed in the shape of playing cards, remember the characters who guarded the Queen of Hearts in the story? The invitation is a double-sided layout with Ace symbol which also resembles the initial of the birthday girl’s name. Not only one design, I created the whole set of symbols; heart, diamond, spade and clover.
The invitation is beautifully wrapped with a blush pink envelope liner. Also a vintage key is slipped in guests’ invitations. A lovely set which makes the guests completely feel in the world of Alice in Wonderland!
