We headed to the North to attend my friend’s wedding in Wynyard Hall. We were super excited as it was our first mix British-Indonesian wedding party, me even more! I couldn’t help my amusement while receiving such a beautiful and gorgeous wedding invitation. Look, look!
We witnessed this cross culture wedding celebration, the blend of both traditions was essentially beautiful and special and we were honoured to be part of it. It was a bright and sunny day, we had a chance to enjoy the Summer weather at the terrace of the elegant colonnaded mansion, Wynyard Hall.
It has begun with an intimate wedding ceremony, changing vows and rings and the establishment of Mr & Mrs Britton. I was touched by the ‘for happy tears’ complimentary tissue inserted at the back of the ceremony book. The reception was over then we welcomed champagnes and canapés and also cones from ice cream stands!
After the tea ceremony which was held to respect elder family members by serving teas in return of red envelopes (hongbao) which symbolise luck and good wishes for the couple. The event dominates with red colour which is believed to bring luck.
It was the time for the wedding breakfast. We followed the eatable escort cards to find our tables. I have smitten with all lovely details in the party and thrilled to share the beautiful table arrangements, flower centrepieces, cute decorations, wedding favours, and other wedding galore.
The french menu was served, my choice of prawn and crayfish cocktail as appetisers was excellent; the Entrecôte and the sweet mille feuille as a dessert.
What I love about this wedding is the endless element of surprise and the foresight attention to detail. As a guest, we feel been looked after constantly; one of them is the brilliant idea of dancing flip flops so you exchange your heels and dance till the midnight! Also my favourite thing from this wedding is the photo booth! What a fun night to get crazy with this vintage photo box! Cheers!
